Took or threatened to take negative or legal action: Debt collection

This collection was place on my file and I asked them to give me a true amount owed as I tried several attempts to return equipment. I was never given a different amount owed and was told they were simple a debt collector and they only collect on the debt and they had no other resources to help with the difference in the amount owed.
