Problem caused by your funds being low: Checking or savings account
I am a United States military veteran and holder of a Chase Premier Plus Checking account. According to Chase 's account terms, veterans who provide qualifying proof of military service are eligible for a waiver of the monthly service fee. Chase previously recognized my veteran status and provided veteran-related banking benefits as early as 2015. Despite this, Chase began charging monthly service fees to my account. After I contacted Chase and provided supporting documentation, Chase refunded only the most recent $25.00 fee and confirmed that my account has now been enrolled in military benefits and that future monthly service fees will not be charged. However, Chase refused to refund the earlier fees, stating only that my account had reached its limit of standard refunds for the calendar year. My request is not for a discretionary courtesy refund. Rather, I believe the fees were improperly assessed because Chase had prior knowledge of my veteran status and failed to maintain the appropriate veteran designation on my account. I am requesting that Chase conduct a complete review of my account from the date the monthly service fees began, reimburse all improperly assessed fees, and provide a written explanation of why my veteran status was not properly reflected on the account despite prior documentation and recognition by Chase.
