Managing an account: Checking or savings account
am filing a formal consumer protection complaint against Cash App ( Block, Inc. ) for deceptive marketing, bait-and-switch account management, and predatory user interface restrictions.Cash App explicitly advertises a specific premium tier of benefits to consumers who meet direct deposit and spending thresholds. On my personal app review screen, the interface explicitly states as a statement of fact : 'Earn 3.25 % interest : Your savings could earn the maximum rate. " Cash App Card offers : Add offers to save on gas and groceries. " Overdraft coverage available : You have $100.00 overdraft coverage if needed. 'My dashboard actively displays this text, telling me 'You have $100.00 overdraft coverage if needed ' to incentivize me to keep depositing and spending money. However, the moment I attempt to interact with the interface to actually toggle on and use this coverage, the application serves an immediate error screen under the 'Amount used " section stating : 'Your account no longer has overdraft coverage. " I escalated this direct contradiction to a phone support manager today. The supervisor confirmed that on Cash App 's internal backend servers, my account meets the criteria, yet they refused to deploy an engineering fix to repair my broken application interface, claiming that the feature is 'not guaranteed ' even though the user interface literally states that I have it.Displaying an explicit account status telling a consumer 'You have $100.00 overdraft coverage, ' while hard-locking the user interface and displaying a conflicting rejection screen, is a deceptive trade practice under federal guidelines. I have fully met the required thresholds. I am attaching screenshots of this exact 'Overdraft coverage available " review screen alongside the immediate error message. I request that Cash App 's corporate compliance office manually bypass this interface glitch and immediately activate the $100.00 overdraft feature I have legally earned.
