Getting a line of credit: Payday loan, title loan, personal loan, or advance loan
I am filing this complaint against Square because it denied my loan application based on an alleged association between me and another individual and/or business with which I have absolutely no relationship. I have no ownership interest, management role, financial connection, business affiliation, or any other association with the person or company that Square appears to have relied upon in making its decision. I believe Square either used inaccurate information or improperly matched my identity with someone else. After receiving the denial, I promptly sent Square a formal written dispute explaining that the information was incorrect and requesting that they : Explain the specific information used to deny my application ; Identify the source of the information that allegedly links me to the unrelated person or business ; Provide copies of any records or reports relied upon in making the decision ; and Reconsider my application based only on accurate information relating to me and my business. I also provided documentation supporting my position and disputing the alleged association. Despite my efforts, Square has not responded to my dispute or addressed the inaccurate information. I am requesting that Square : Investigate and remove any inaccurate association between me and the unrelated individual or business ; Provide a complete explanation of the information used in making its decision ; Correct any inaccurate records concerning my identity or business ; and Reconsider my application using accurate information. I believe consumers should not be denied financial products based on incorrect or unverified information, especially when the company fails to respond to a formal dispute seeking correction of those errors.
