Attempts to collect debt not owed: Debt collection
I am submitting this regarding Ability Recovery Services , LLC for the improper reporting of two collection accounts on my credit reports. I believe this reporting raises serious concerns regarding my privacy rights and compliance with federal law. These accounts appear to involve medical-related debt, and as such, I am concerned that the reporting and sharing of this information may violate my protections under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act ( HIPAA ) , which limits the disclosure of protected health information without proper authorization. Furthermore, I have formally requested validation and verification of these alleged debts pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ), yet I have not received sufficient documentation demonstrating that these accounts are accurate, valid, or that Ability Recovery Services has the legal authority to collect on them. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), all information reported to the credit bureaus must be complete, accurate, and verifiable, and consumers have the right to dispute information that can not be substantiated. To date, I have not been provided with adequate proof, including any agreement bearing my signature or detailed records confirming the legitimacy of these accounts.
