Trouble using the card: Prepaid card

I was given a prepaid gift card to use. When I tried to activate the card using the web site on the card, it gave a fail. I tried multiple times with same issue. Then, I called the number on the card and got same result. I finally got to a live person and said I have issue with activating the card. I was told to fax in photos of the card as well as my driver 's license. I asked this is a prepaid card, so why I need to send in personal information and was told it's required. I went online and search for this web site and a saw flood of complaints exactly as mine. Many people said to file a complaint with this site and got the company to issue a working prepaid card. There is no way I'm sending in personal info for something that is not associated with my name. Please help. Thank you.
