Took or threatened to take negative or legal action: Debt collection

I am submitting a complaint regarding a rental debt collection account that I dispute. The collection agency has threatened that my credit would be ruined if I did not pay the alleged debt. I believe these communications have been intimidating and have caused significant concern. I dispute the validity and amount of this debt. I have not received sufficient documentation proving that I legally owe the amount being claimed. I have not been provided with a complete itemized statement, lease accounting, move-out statement, or other documentation showing how the balance was calculated. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ), I am requesting : Validation of the debt with supporting documentation. A complete accounting of all charges and fees. Documentation demonstrating that the collection agency has authority to collect this debt. Verification that all information reported to the credit bureaus is accurate and complete. If the debt can not be properly verified, I request that the collection account be removed from my credit reports and that all collection activity cease regarding this disputed debt. I also request an investigation into whether the collection agency 's communications complied with applicable consumer protection laws.
