Dealing with your lender or servicer: Student loan

I am reporting suspected identity theft, unauthorized use of my personal information, and financial fraud. I discovered financial obligations, account activity, and transactions that I do not believe I authorized. One of the most significant issues involves student loans that were obtained in my name. I do not recall applying for, authorizing, or consenting to these loans. I later learned that the loans had been approved and disbursed. I did not knowingly authorize the use of the loan proceeds and am seeking to determine how the loans were obtained and used. I also discovered that payments related to these student loans had been automatically withdrawn from my financial account over an extended period of time. Although I had access to the account, I did not regularly review the statements because the payments were recurring and processed automatically. When I later conducted a detailed review of my financial records, I identified these withdrawals and began investigating the underlying loan activity. During my review, I also discovered additional activity involving financial accounts, credit cards, and personal information that I did not recognize or believe I authorized. After reviewing account records and speaking with financial institutions and merchants, I became concerned that my identity and personal information may have been used without my knowledge or permission. As a result of these issues, I have suffered financial losses, incurred debt obligations, paid interest and recurring charges, experienced potential harm to my credit profile, and spent substantial time attempting to identify and resolve the unauthorized activity. I am submitting this report so that the suspected misuse of my identity, student loan information, financial accounts, and credit accounts can be documented and investigated by the appropriate authorities. I am requesting that the matter be investigated to determine how these accounts, obligations, and transactions were created, authorized, and used, and to identify any individual or individuals who may be responsible.
