Communication tactics: Debt collection
I called with the intention of setting up a payment plan on my account because I am currently trying to resolve an outstanding balance and improve my situation. During the call, I was informed that payment plans were not available. I explained that I was attempting to make things right because the debt was preventing me from being approved for an apartment. The representative responded by saying, " Well, I guess you ain't ever getting into an apartment. '' I found this comment unprofessional, disrespectful, and completely unnecessary. The conversation then became heated, and at one point the representative brought my deceased mother into the conversation without any reason or relevance to the matter being discussed. Regardless of the circumstances, I do not believe a customer should be spoken to in this manner. I called in good faith to try to resolve an issue, and instead I was met with disrespectful and inappropriate remarks. I am requesting that this call be reviewed and that appropriate action be taken. I would also appreciate a response regarding the outcome of this complaint. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. Furthermore, I dispute the validity of this alleged debt. To the best of my knowledge, I have never rented an apartment at the complex in question and do not believe this account belongs to me. I am requesting documentation showing the basis for this debt, including any lease agreements, applications, signatures, account records, or other evidence that connects me to the alleged obligation. Until such documentation is provided, I do not acknowledge responsibility for this debt.
