Attempts to collect debt not owed: Debt collection

I am disputing the accuracy and validity of the Portfolio Recovery Associates collection account appearing on my consumer reports. Portfolio Recovery Associates is reporting itself as the original creditor, which appears inaccurate and misleading because it is a debt purchaser and not the original creditor. I requested verification of the original creditor, payment history, balance calculations, date of first delinquency, and documentation proving Portfolio Recovery Associates legal authority to collect and report this account. The account remains disputed and reflects consumer disputes reinvestigation in progress, yet sufficient verification has not been provided. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, including 15 U.S.C. 1681e ( b ), 1681i, and 1681s-2 ( b ), inaccurate or unverified information must be corrected or deleted.
