Through this CFPB complaint, I am formally asserting my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ) and the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) by submitting a combined dispute and validation request to Sunrise Credit Services , Inc . I have attached a detailed written request that outlines all necessary documentation to validate the alleged debt. Specifically, I am requesting : A complete copy of the original signed contract or agreement that created the alleged obligation. A full itemized account history, including all charges, payments, interest, fees, adjustments, and charge-offs. Documentation showing that Sunrise Credit Services , Inc currently owns the debt, including any purchase or assignment contract. The name and address of the original creditor. Copies of any prior notices or communications, including the validation notice required under 15 U.S.C. 1692g ( a ). Additionally, to verify the accuracy and completeness of the information associated with this account, I have requested : The Date of First Delinquency ( DOFD ), as recorded by the original creditor. The charge-off date of the account. The assignment or purchase date, including documentation of the transfer to Sunrise Credit Services , Inc . The full data set maintained for the account ( status, balance, date opened, dispute codes ). A description of the investigation procedure used, if this account has previously been disputed. This complaint ensures the request is formally submitted through a regulatory channel, with full documentation. Please ensure that all 10 items requested in the attached letter are addressed completely and directly.

I am submitting this complaint because a collection account that was previously removed from my credit reports after my prior CFPB complaint has now been reported again by a different collection agency. I have documentation showing that the previous collection agency removed the account following the resolution of my earlier CFPB complaint. Despite that resolution, another collection agency has now purchased or been assigned the same alleged debt and began reporting it on my credit reports again. I dispute the accuracy, completeness, and legal basis for this reporting. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) : 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2 ( a ) requires furnishers of information to provide accurate information to consumer reporting agencies. 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2 ( b ) requires furnishers to conduct a reasonable investigation after receiving notice of a dispute from a consumer reporting agency. 15 U.S.C. 1681e ( b ) requires consumer reporting agencies to follow reasonable procedures to assure maximum possible accuracy of information contained in consumer reports. 15 U.S.C. 1681i requires consumer reporting agencies to conduct a reasonable reinvestigation of disputed information. Additionally, under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ) : 15 U.S.C. 1692e prohibits debt collectors from using any false, deceptive, or misleading representations in connection with the collection of a debt. 15 U.S.C. 1692f prohibits unfair or unconscionable means to collect or attempt to collect a debt. If applicable, 15 U.S.C. 1692g requires the debt collector to provide validation of the debt when required by law. Because this account was previously removed following my CFPB complaint, I request that the current collection agency provide competent evidence demonstrating : Their legal authority to collect the alleged debt. A complete chain of assignment or ownership from the original creditor to the current collector. Documentation establishing the amount claimed is accurate. Documentation demonstrating that their credit reporting complies with the Fair Credit Reporting Act and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. If they can not provide competent evidence supporting the accuracy and legal basis for this reporting, I request that the account be immediately deleted from all consumer reporting agencies. I am attaching documentation showing : The previous CFPB complaint. The resolution of that complaint. Evidence that the prior collection account was removed. Documentation showing the new collection account has now appeared. I request that the CFPB investigate whether this re-reporting complies with the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, require the company to substantiate its reporting, and require deletion of the account if it can not be verified as accurate and legally reportable. The previous company could not verify the debt.

This debt collector has done unjustifiable practices of the FDCPA which it prohibits. They furnished this account that we didn't agree upon and I didn't sign an agreement on. A legal contract is signed by two parties and I did not participate in any of it. they didn't follow the proper 5-step validation procedure. According to the FDCPA, I'm entitled to compensation for these violations and clearly, they violated my rights and abused my privileges. I demand this account be taken off immediately.

I am currently applying for a mortgage, and a collection account from Sunrise recently appeared on my credit report. I have no knowledge of this account, do not recognize the alleged debt, and did not authorize or open any account connected to it. I sent Sunrise a written dispute by certified mail 10 days ago, but I have received no response. This account is fraudulent and does not belong to me. It is negatively affecting my credit and threatening my mortgage approval. I am requesting that Sunrise immediately investigate this matter, provide proof that the debt belongs to me, and remove the fraudulent collection account from all three credit reports as soon as possible.

This CFPB complaint is also a formal request for debt validation to SUNRISE CREDIT SERVICE under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ) and a dispute of the accuracy and completeness of the account under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). My attached letter outlines the documents required to lawfully validate the alleged debt, including the original signed agreement, proof of ownership or assignment, the purchase or transfer agreement, and a complete accounting of the balance. To assess the legal standing and enforceability of this debt, I have also requested the following : The Date of First Delinquency ( DOFD ), as recorded by the original creditor and used to determine default and charge-off status. The date the account was charged off. The date the account was acquired or assigned to SUNRISE CREDIT SERVICE, along with any documentation confirming the nature of the transfer. This submission is being made through the CFPB portal to ensure the request is properly documented, delivered, and subject to regulatory oversight. Sunrise Credit Services never contacted me with a right to dispute. The collection agency never notified me by mail. Instead, they just began reporting their company name and account number with the credit bureaus. I had to find out about the collection agency through a credit monitoring alert that showed me a collection agency had accessed my credit file and added themselves onto my credit report. This is unacceptable. This is a violation of my consumer rights under the FDCPA and FCRA.

Account was opened without my authorization. and now I'm getting contacted by this random debt collector about it. I've submitted a ftc report and suspect this account was opened fraudulently due to the several data breaches my Social and ID along with other information has been involved in.

This debt collector has engaged in conduct that violates the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ). They are reporting an account that I did not authorize, and no signed agreement exists bearing my signature to validate any obligation. A legally binding contract requires clear consent from all parties, which is absent in this case. Additionally, the collector has failed to provide proper validation of the alleged debt as required under the FDCPA. Without sufficient documentation verifying the debts legitimacy, their continued reporting and collection efforts are unlawful. These actions constitute violations of my consumer rights. As a result, I demand the immediate deletion of this account from all reporting agencies. Failure to comply may result in further legal action, including claims for damages.
