I am filing this complaint regarding Bridgecrests handling of a vehicle account that was voluntarily surrendered. After I notified Bridgecrest of the voluntary repossession and made the vehicle available for pickup, Bridgecrest failed and refused to retrieve the vehicle in a timely manner. The vehicle remained at the repair facility/storage location while storage fees continued to accumulate.
Bridgecrest repeatedly failed to communicate with me regarding the status of the repossession. In addition, Bridgecrest failed to communicate with the repair facility where the vehicle was located, despite the facility attempting to coordinate pickup. As a result, the vehicle sat for an extended period with no action taken by Bridgecrest.
Since the surrender, I have received inconsistent and conflicting information regarding the account balance, deficiency balance, fees, and amounts allegedly owed. The figures provided by Bridgecrest do not match from one communication to another, and I have been unable to obtain a clear and accurate accounting of the debt. The numbers provided are confusing, inconsistent, and unsupported by proper documentation.
Furthermore, Bridgecrest has failed to provide complete and transparent information concerning the repossession process, sale of the vehicle ( if applicable ), application of proceeds, calculation of any deficiency balance, and supporting documentation showing how the amounts reported were determined.
I am requesting that Bridgecrest : 1. Provide a complete accounting of the account, including all payments, fees, charges, repossession costs, storage costs, sale proceeds, and any deficiency balance.
2. Provide documentation showing when they were notified of the vehicles location and what actions were taken to recover the vehicle.
3. Explain why the vehicle was not promptly recovered after voluntary surrender.
4. Correct any inaccurate account reporting.
5. Investigate whether improper fees, charges, or balances were assessed due to Bridgecrests failure to timely retrieve the vehicle.
6. Cease reporting any inaccurate information to consumer reporting agencies and correct any erroneous credit reporting.
I believe Bridgecrests failure to communicate, failure to timely recover the voluntarily surrendered vehicle, and failure to provide accurate and consistent account information have caused significant financial harm and confusion. I request a full investigation and written response with supporting documentation. They also severely damaged the vehicle during the pickup and made it impossible to even try to recover anything for this vehicle. They were unprofessional and dishonest and did not follow the appropriate protocols.
